Why is Pico-Zinc ™ One of the Best Zinc Supplements?
Using the same proprietary technology that created ReMag and ReMyte, we have made Pico Zinc™ liquid zinc dietary supplement available to our customers. Pico Zinc™ is the best zinc supplement to use as it offers stabilized ions of zinc that are fully absorbed at the cellular level. We add it to our mineral family to help support the electrolyte balance in the body.
What is Zinc and What Does It Do?
Zinc is a mineral. It’s called an ‘essential trace element’ because very small amounts of zinc are essential to human health. that people need to stay healthy. Nearly 100 different enzymes rely on zinc for their activity. Zinc is found in cells throughout the body. It helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses. The body also needs zinc to make proteins and DNA, the genetic material in all cells. During pregnancy a growing fetus needs zinc to grow and develop properly. Zinc also helps wounds heal and is important for proper senses of taste and smell.
Since the body does not store excess zinc, it must be consumed regularly as part of the diet. Common dietary sources of zinc include red meat, poultry and fish. But not everyone obtains enough through their diet. Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of taking zinc supplements is the fact they can help you get enough zinc on a daily basis. Taking zinc supplements is very common and generally recognized as safe.
Liquid Zinc Supplement Benefits
Zinc is a very popular supplement, but many pills and powders are not well absorbed, causing digestive distress. Individuals who suffer from digestive issues such as leaky gut, Crone’s disease or IBS are often zinc deficient and would benefit from using Pico Zinc™, as a liquid zinc solution is the best zinc supplement for absorption.
It’s also the best form of zinc supplement if you’re looking to control your dosage. Using a liquid supplement gives you more control over the dosage amount. Other types of zinc supplements, like those in pill form, come in pre-measured doses, which restricts how flexible you can be with intake. And that’s what makes liquid the best type of zinc supplement; you can easily alter the amount if you are taking a liquid form of the supplement. If you need less or more one day, you will be able to make quick adjustments.
What is the Recommended Daily Intake for Zinc?
According to the National Institute of Health – the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) quantities of zinc have been established:
- Men age 14 and older, 11 mg/day;
- Women 19 and older, 8 mg/day;
- Pregnant women 19 and older, 11 mg/day;
- Lactating women 19 and older, 12 mg/day.
In people with mild zinc deficiency, recommendations suggest taking two to three times the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) using zinc deficiency supplementation for 6 months. In people with moderate to severe deficiency, recommendations suggest taking four to five times the RDA for 6 months.
